Responding to Ofcom's broadband announcements today, the Broadband Industry Group said:

"We are pleased to see that Ofcom has listened to the Group's concerns, the decisions announced today are positive steps, taking us significantly along the road towards a competitive broadband market. Lowering LLU charges, fixing the margin-squeeze between different forms of wholesale service and creating an easier method to sort out implementation issues all help foster competition in the market. "

"Now the policy is clear, the next steps are all about getting things done. To really deliver benefits for consumers - better services, more innovative choices - the implementation issues need to be solved. The members of the Broadband Industry Group look forward to working with Ofcom, and with BT, to make these outcomes happen."

"There is still much detail to work through but it looks like a good day for broadband Britain."
